Donna Fishburn
Donna has been a Learn to
Swim Instructor for a number of years. She holds current qualifications
from Austswim in both Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety as well as
the extension certificate Teacher of Infant Aquatics. In addition to
these certificates Donna is in the process of gaining the further
qualification of Teacher of Swimming - Disabilities. She also
holds a current Senior First Aid certificate and also Senior
Resuscitation certificate.
Her experience in teaching
is extensive, ranging from babies all the way up to adults, teaching
both mainstream students and students with disabilities, most notably
her experience teaching students from St Gabriels School for the Hearing
impaired where she was teaching group classes in an intensive two week
program.
As well as teaching
swimming on a weekly basis, Donna has also been involved on a seasonal
basis, teaching school children in group lessons for intensive
swimming lessons, teaching both swimming and Lifesaving programs. She
also has experience in private lessons for a wide variety of students.
Donna's calm demeanor and
empathy ensures that all her students progress well through their
lessons, irrespective of age or level of ability.
Jacy Harding
Jacy has also been a learn
to swim teacher for a number of years. She holds the
Teacher of Swimming and Water safety, Teacher of Infant Aquatics,
Teacher of Swimming, Disabilities and is in the process of gaining her
Green Level coaching License (disabilities). As well she holds a
current Senior First Aid certificate and Senior Resuscitation
certificate as well as current Bronze Medallion.
Jacy's experience in
teaching is extensive, teaching students ranging from
babies all the way up to adults, both mainstream and students with a
disability. For the last two years Jacy has had a number of students
with special needs who have lessons with her on a weekly basis. Jacy
also taught students from St Gabriels School for Hearing impaired,
teaching an advanced squad group lesson in the intensive two week
program.
Most recently Jacy has
been involved with a Special Needs squad for three students on a weekly
basis. This has led to her volunteering to help set up a new Special
Olympics Squad in the Hills area, starting with these three students.
This has now grown to a squad of over 20 students, ranging from Learn to
swim all the way up to a senior squad, with age ranges of 5yrs to 25yrs.
She now has a number of volunteer coaches working under her stewardship.
