Donna Fishburn

Donna has been a Learn to Swim instructor for a number of years. She holds current qualifications from Austswim in Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety as well as the extension certificates of Teacher of Infant Aquatics and Teacher of Swimming—Disabilities. In addition to these qualifications, Donna also holds a current Senior First aid Certificate and Senior Resuscitation certificate as well as a Bronze Medallion from RLSSA.

Her experience in teaching is extensive, ranging from babies all the way up to adults, teaching both mainstream students and those with disabilities. She has taught both one on one and also in group classes, most notably her experience in teaching students from St Gabriel’s School for hearing impaired where she taught an intensive two week program, teaching both swimming and Lifesaving, as set out by Royal Life Saving Society.

As well as teaching swimming on a weekly basis, Donna has also been involved in Special Olympics, where she is a volunteer coach, teaching squad level students on a weekly basis. Donna is also a volunteer Lifesaving coach.

Donnas' calm demeanor and empathy ensures that all her students progress well through their lessons, irrespective of age or level of ability.

 

Jacy Harding

Jacy has also been a Learn to Swim Instructor for a number of years. She holds the Austwim qualifications of Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, Teacher of Infant Aquatics, Teacher of Swimming—Disabilities and also a Green Level License Coach qualification. She also holds a current Senior First Aid  and Senior Resuscitation as well as a current Bronze Medallion.

Jacy’s experience in teaching is extensive, teaching students ranging from babies up to adults, both mainstream and students with a disability. For the last four years Jacy has had a number of students with special needs whom she has taught on a weekly basis. Jacy also taught students from St Gabriel’s School for Hearing impaired and the Special unit from North Rocks Primary school, teaching both Learn to Swim and squad level students in an intensive two week swimming and lifesaving program.

Most recently Jacy has been involved with Special Olympics in the Hills area where she is a volunteer head coach, helping to grow the squad from the original 3 students up to around 25 students. She is also a volunteer Lifesaving coach with The Hills Swimming and Lifesaving club.
